CARWASH

I normally like to wash my own car so that I'm sure I get it done right, but when I don't have time, a trip to Jayjay's Car Wash on Llewellyn is my next best plan. Don't be discouraged by the look of the place as you drive by; this is one efficient organization. The hand wash, dry, and vac is done by pairs of workers, and I get the feeling they're probably working their way up from unemployment or even worse. However, the work ethic is there, and I've never had a bad experience. The $10 price is well worth the quality of the wash, and the fact that the same pair of workers will handle your car from vac to final towel-dry has proven to mean a consistent product; after all, when they hand you back your keys, you know it's the same two that did everything, so if something isn't up to snuff, they'll fix it right away. I get the feeling that tips are expected; and I've always been pleased to give one based on the work being done. Compared to any mainstream hand-wash joint, even giving each worker $5 leaves me coming out on top. Keep supporting our local businesses!
